One of my Super moon shots, this time colour corrected. Big swell rolled across the Blackhead rock shelf in Gerroa, South Coast NSW and I got jolly wet.

Oooh, that's different! (from the other gazillion supermoon shots that have appeared in my inbox lately) Lovely scenery. I don't know why but I like these clouds

Thanks. I knew this site would be heaving with zooms of the moon, so I did something different. :)

Did you take any supermoon shots with a longer focal length?

Hi mate. No, I didn't bother. I figured everyone would be shooting at 400mm, framing it behind skyscrapers and the like, so I decided to put it within my favourite landscape sized frame. Plus the biggest zoom I have is a 250, which wouldn't have greatly enlarged it. Did you do any?

Nah, I missed it unfortunately. Need to get my licence back so I can get out to good locations.
I was more thinking along the lines of 50-70mm, still in a landscape shot but giving the moon a more impressive presence.

I did some 55mm ones, but they're not too good because there's nothing to frame it. I took an okay one the night before (when I didn't even know it was a special moon) that came out pretty well.

Yeah, that is the problem with the longer focal lengths - you have to get a long way back from the scene, or just pano it.
