Like all the east coast beaches here in Australia, we've been seeing a bit of swell coming through. Yesterday it was cranking 3-4m, this morning it had died off to 1.5m-2m. An otherwise unpromising looking day was enlivened by a nice sunrise and I managed to successfully wake the entire house up when I crept out at 6am to photograph it.
This photo was the first I took with the Cokin ND Grad set my wife bought me for Christmas. It's great being able to properly expose for both sky and land without any Lightroom trickery.
EXIF: 1/400 at f6.3, stopped down -1EV, ISO 200, Cokin ND Grad, Hoya Circular Polariser. In Lightroom, +20 clarity, +6 saturation, very shallow S tone curve.
